The Garfield Foundation Party
We had 47 people at the 11/7/02 GHSF Party, hosted by the Happels!
Of that total (which included GHSF organizing committee members and Garfield staff and students),
there were 15 people (almost all alumni) who seemed interested in getting more engaged with the
Foundation effort. Ben volunteered to follow up with each person to assess their interests.
Deliverables for our 12/10/2002 Meeting
- Officer decisions
- Decide initial structure: non-profit corporation, trust, or ???
- Review the Development Committee Strategic Plan
- Review alumni chair/committee
- Schedule a meeting between the Garfield Golden Grads leadership and a few organizing
committee members
Other notes
- The Seattle Post-Intelligencer ran an article on 1933 Garfield graduate Homer Harris,
on the occassion of an anonymous $1.3 million donation to create a park in his honor
[see article].
- Ben needs to send a check to Judith to cover Karhy Merwyn's food costs for the 11/07 party.
- Ben needs to send a thank you note to each of the four students who played jazz at the
11/07 party.
